Red River Gorge Bigfoot Festival - Stanton, KY  
Join us at the Red River Gorge's first Bigfoot Festival in Stanton, Kentucky!  It's going to be a memorable experience with world-renowned guest speakers, celebrities, Bigfoot contests, cosplay, games, music, Bigfoot movies on the lawn, food trucks, and unique arts and crafts. It's a family-friendly FREE event with something for everyone!  You definitely don't want to miss this epic event!

Stanton Corn Festival - Stanton, KY  
This 3-day festival invites you to enjoy all things corn! The fun includes corn eating contests, corn hole tournaments, corn bread contests, and of course the corn festival beauty pageant. The Corn Festival is also host to several Kentucky craft vendors and excellent musical talent. All of the excitement takes place the first weekend in August and is held under the old shade trees of the Stanton City Park

Woolly Worm Festival - Beattyville, KY
This is one of the largest festivals in Kentucky drawing visitors from all over! The tale is told that the 13 segments of the wooly worm help predict the 13 weeks of winter. Great music, bunches of vendors and some of the best food of any festival in the area! Come visit the Heart of the Kentucky River the weekend after Courtdays!

Mountain Mushroom Festival - Irvine, KY
Got Morels? The Morel Mushroom is a large part of the area's culture as mushroom hunters have gone to the hills to bring home a bounty of dry land fish for generations! During this celebration, Irvine also recognizes the famous Kentucky Agate. This is the kick-off festival for the area usually held in late April.

Mountain Memories Festival - Frenchburg, KY
Frenchburg, Kentucky is a beautiful little town nestled in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.  Each year they have a town play that often sells out for each performance.  The festival and friendly people make this a joy to attend each June!

Patriot Days - Clay City, KY
The Clay City AMVETS post 67 puts on the largest Independence Day Celebration for the Red River Gorge Area!  Live music, inflatables, auction, vendors and of course FIREWORKS!! If you're in the area during the 4th of July, this is definitely something you'll want to check out.

Railroad Festival - Ravenna, KY
This quaint little town festival is held in Ravenna, Kentucky.  In so many ways the Railroad is responsible for the growth and establishment of many towns in the Red River Gorge area.  This one day festival draws unique vendors & live music!

Wild & Scenic Red Riverfest - Red River Gorge, KY
Join co-hosts Friends of Red River and Kentucky Waterways Alliance for the Wild and Scenic Red Riverfest annually on the 3rd Saturday of May to celebrate the Red River, the only waterway in Kentucky that has this invaluable designation from the National Wild & Scenic River System which keeps it free-flowing and protected. The annual is a fundraiser for Friends of Red River for cleanups, environmental education, & improved river access.

Powell County Fair - Stanton, KY 
A classic small town fair put on by the Powell County Lions Club. This is held the  2nd week of September and includes events such as the ever famous Greasy Pig Contest and the Demolition Derby. If you're in the area as the leaves start to change color, this is a great place to enjoy those beautiful mid-September days!

Rocktoberfest - Campton, KY
ROCKTOBERFEST is put on by the Red River Gorge Climbers' Coalition, this is an amazing event you just have to experience.  Watch for it every October! Now located at Land of the Arches Campground.

Natural Bridge Artisan Festival and Quilt Show- Natural Bridge Campground - Slade KY
Natural Bridge Artisan Festival is held annually on the 3rd weekend in August. The festival is held at the Natural Bridge Campground (90 L&E Railroad Place, Slade KY 40376). The Quilt Show is held at the Red River Gorge Visitor Center at Slade (30 L& E Railroad Place, Slade KY 40376). There is live music, vendors, food trucks, primitive skills demonstrations, and more!

Swift Silver Mine Festival - Campton, KY
Come home Labor Day Weekend and celebrate with friends!  Based on the mystery of the lost Swift Silver Mine, this down home festival includes a carnival, street vendors & musical talent that's sure to please!

Crowefest - Clay City, KY
Celebrate the life and legacy of legendary bluegrass musician JD Crowe at this epic music festival held at Meadowgreen Appalachian Music Park in Clay City! Held in August every year, the venue also has an RV park with full hookups!

Living Archaeology Weekend - Natural Bridge State Resort Park, KY
Third weekend in September every year. Historically held at Gladie Visitor Center, now at Natural Bridge State Resort Park. Living Archaeology Weekend is an award-winning, immersive experience in Kentucky's famous Red River Gorge. Our event uses archaeological evidence to inform diverse demonstrations of the region's Native and Pioneer technologies and lifeways. Visitors learn about the area's rich cultural traditions and gain insights into past people's lives and experiences. This FREE event is held every year on the third weekend in September in the Red River Gorge. The Friday program from 9:00am-4:00pm EST is for pre-registered school groups. The Saturday program from 9:00am-4:00pm EST is open to the public; registration is not required. Our wide range of educational materials, including a new video series, support educators and students year-round.

Herpetology Weekend - Red River Gorge, KY
A fun and educational weekend offering speakers and field trips! Events are held at Natural Bridge State Resort Park and other locations around the Red River Gorge. Dan and Judy Dourson, Biologists, help organize this annual event with the Kentucky Reptile Zoo.
